The romantic traditions and philosophical subject matter of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s tale «The little prince»

Abstract
The article highlights and analyzes the views of Ukrainian and foreign scholars on the philosophical sense of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s tale «The Little Prince» and the symbolism of its imagery. The article focuses on the successful interplay of Romanticism’s Realism’s and Modernism’s ideas as well as the philosophical, allegorical and symbolic aspects of his prose that constitute the most typical characteristics of Saint-Exupery’s oeuvre. The complexity of the writer’s world view including his beliefs, existential ideas and faith in humanity’s great spiritual and intellectual potential is revealed. Based on the previous studies the issue of fact and ¿ ction in Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s works has been revisited and scienti¿ cally substantiated.
