Journal Title: Вісник Одеського національного університету. Психологія - Year 2015, Vol 20, Issue 2
Abstract
Various definitions are used in science to describe the state of an individual subjective world in the aspect of its perception: satisfaction of life, emotional comfort, wellbeing, experience (feeling) of happiness, etc. Thus, «happiness» is a phenomenon that mostly belongs to an individual existential aspect of a human being, to the perception and in general to the understanding of the world and human nature, pleasure, satisfaction and emotional comfort are concepts with general meaning and without strict limits, in many scientific researches they are interpreted as comfortable living conditions. The notions of ‘well-being’ and ‘sense (feeling) of satisfaction’ are very important for the whole subjective (inner) world of a personality. The subjective well-being appears as a category of a human subjectness, where are combined perception, appreciation, attitude and other processes that are determined by external and inner factors, first of all we are talking about the subjectivity of relations of a personality. The main psychological features of the subjective well-being of a personality are subjectivity (the subjective well-being exists inside the individual experience), the positivity of perception (the subjective well-being is not only the absence of negative factors, definite positive signs should be presented), global appreciation (the subjective well-being generally includes global appreciation of all aspects of life of a personality during some weeks or decades of years). The subjective well-being of a personality is a compound sociopsychological formation, that includes emotional, cognitive and conative components, it is formed during socio-psychological activity, in the system of actual attitude of a personality towards the surrounding objects and it is based upon socio-psychological aims, values and behavioral strategies. The subjective well-being of a personality is influenced by inner (value and meaningful human formations, socio-psychological aims, behavioral strategies) and external factors (the conditions of socialization).
