THE SEMANTICS AND PRAGMATICS OF THE RUSSIAN UTTERANCES WITH THE USE ЕСЛИ НА ТО ПОШЛО (IESLI NA TO POSHLO)

Abstract
The article discusses the problem of asymmetric sentences of the Russian language. On the example of turn of speech если на то пошло (iesli na to poshlo) the author considers values and conditions of its use. Verbal interpretation and speech practice is compared. Peculiarities of its functioning are marked. Failure in dictionary definitions is brought to light. With the help of transformation the synonymous substitution is examined. The data of linguistic experiment that confirms the conclusions of the author are made. It allows to define the place of sentences with this turn of speech in Russian.
