THE SIGNIFICANCE OF MARQUISE DE POMPADOUR’S ACTIVITY IN THE DIPLOMATIC REVOLUTION BEFORE THE SEVEN YEARS’ WAR

Abstract
The article is focused on research of role of marquise de Pompadour, the Louis XV’s favourite, in the Diplomatic revolution of 1750-ies. Analysing the correspondence between the marquise de Pompadour and a few of her contemporaries, engaged in the process of franco-austrian negotiations on signing of agreement 1756, an author emphasized their political hopes and calculations. Finally, the author of the article shows its conclusion about the importance of the activity of marquise de Pompadour on establishment of franco-austrian allied relations and forming of foreign policy of France in the first half of 1750-ies in the context of the Diplomatic revolution.
