THE SOCIAL METAPHOR OF THE HUMAN BODY: Sociology of the Body. What Next?

Abstract
Since the 1980s, sociology of the body has been criticized for its small contribution to mainstreamsociology. And despite the fact that the subject of “the body” in sociology has sincepassed, on the example of the analysis of the annual edition of volumes of “Body & Society”from the years 2011–2013 I will show that sociology of the body still has a lot to offer.
