THE SPECIFIC FEATURES OF APPLICATIVE CONSTRUCTIONS

Abstract
This study examines the unique characteristics of applicative constructions, with a focus on their manifestation in English language. Applicative constructions are syntactic mechanisms that expand the argument structure of verbs, allowing additional roles such as beneficiaries, instruments, or goals to be expressed within a sentence. The paper explores their syntactic properties, semantic versatility, and practical implications. The research highlights how these constructions enrich linguistic expression and provide insight into cross-linguistic variations in syntactic strategies. This investigation offers valuable perspectives for linguists, educators, and language learners.
