The utility of Doppler sonography in kidney transplant recipients

Abstract
Ultrasound examination is a widely used first-line imaging technique in kidney transplant recipients. The analysis of blood flow parameters in the main artery and segmental arteries of the kidney graft based on Doppler method is a non-invasive diagnostic measure, which helps to define the reason of graft dysfunction, both in the early postoperative period and during the long-term follow-up. In this report we present the wide range of Doppler sonography application in kidney transplant recipients, taking into account the indications for this diagnostic measure, the interpretation of its results, as well as the specific limitations of the method.
