THE WORK CONCERNING THE LINGUISTIS IMAGE OF THE MOTHER IN THE CONTEXT OF THE LITERARY DEVELOPMENT OF PUPILS OF PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Abstract

The article deals with the linguistic image of the mother and the method of working on it for the speech development of pupils of elementary school. The concept “linguistic image” is defined; the semantic components of the linguistic image of the mother are outlined in the Ukrainian linguistic picture of the world. On the basis of analysis of texts of textbooks on literary reading, it is determined which of the general components of this image are updated. It was found out that the linguistic image of the mother is presented in the textbooks “Literary Reading” in several semantic planes: “the woman who gave birth to children”, “The Virgin”, “Ukraine”. Authors of textbooks find such works for children’s reading, in which writers use folk instruments, as well as author’s artistic notions, comparisons, metaphors, hyperbolas, expressing their attitude to the Mother as the greatest sanctuary and creating the image of goodness, happiness, tenderness. Instead, the mentioned names do not update the names of the Ukrainian language epithets on the designation of the disadvantaged mother. The purpose of working on the linguistic image of the mother in elementary school, in addition to speech development, is to improve the skills of conscious expressive reading; expansion and deepening of knowledge of students about the importance of mother in human life; the formation of a culture of feelings among children; the formation of skills of expressive recite of poetry; expanding the knowledge about the celebration of the Mother’s Day in Ukraine.
