Abstract
The article substantiates the expediency of studying the outstanding historical figure of the Ottoman Sultanate, for the full understanding of the heyday of the Ottoman Ports. It is proved that the reign of Suleiman the Great contributed to the international rise of the Ottoman Empire. The role of the tenth Sultan as the consolidating force of Western Europe is shown.
