Theoretical and methodological principles of studying psychological protection of individual

Abstract
The paper presents a theoretical construct that expands the phenomenological field of psychological protection and examines the unity of regulatory unconscious processes and conscious behavioural acts. The model of psychological protection of the individual that reflects the interaction of homeostatic and heterostatic tendencies of development is constructed. The role of personal regulation in the organization of self-protective efforts of the individual is determined. The ideas of adaptive transformation of the psychological organisation of the individual in the process of interaction with the changing environment as a principle of explaining the qualitative and quantitative changes in the structural organisation of psychological protection are used.
