THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE ORGANIZATION OF FOREIGN TRADE OF UKRAINE WITH THE EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES

Abstract
The main tendencies of foreign trade of Ukraine with the countries of the European Union are considered in the article. The current stage of development of Ukraine’s foreign trade with the European Union is characterized by the presence of quite complex and contradictory trends. It provides for the voluntary exchange of goods, services, products of intellectual labour between the parties to the trade agreement. It is determined that international trade is one of the driving forces of economic development. Forms of international trade in the subjects of trade operations are considered. Foreign trade contributes to meeting the needs of consumers of goods and services of much better quality and also creates additional opportunities to attract foreign investment. Ways to regulate exports and imports are determined, the main trends affecting the country’s exports and imports are analysed. Among the main factors that stimulate export activities, there can be identified effective use of excess production capacity of the country’s economy, which is based on surplus factors of production. External factors are identified that complicate and limit Ukraine’s right to enter the world economy. The commodity structure of international trade is formed under the influence of competitive advantages that the national economy of the country has. The market of the European Union is the largest market of neighbouring countries of Ukraine and a significant source of investment in Ukraine, necessary for its technological modernization and economic development. It is noted that a deep and comprehensive free trade zone will provide Ukraine with the conditions for the modernization of its trade relations. The positive and negative consequences of the establishment of a deep and comprehensive free trade zone are highlighted. It is proved that Ukraine has the necessary prerequisites not only for economic growth but also for economic and social prosperity.
