Therapeutics Effects of Garlic

Abstract
Garlic has been used as medicinal herb since centuries to prevent and cure many diseases. Use of Garlicas an add-on has increased recently, especially by patients who have been diagnosed with chronic diseases likeHypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Cancer and other diseases. The popularity of Garlic is also increasing everyday as many experiments, clinical trials and studies have demonstrated its benefits in human body.It isalso widely used as spices and aphrodisiac. Among all the Garlic supplements, (Aged Garlic Extract) AGE has high tolerability and high safety profile to be used for medicinal purposes as an adjunctive treatment. Scientific name of Garlic is Allium sativum. Ithas already proven its beneficial effects in major cardiovascular risk factors, including dyslipidemia, blood pressure, blood glucose and insulin levels. Additionally, it has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial activity. It is very effective in increasing the immunity and thus preventing themajor diseases. Experiments have also demonstrated Garlic to be chemoprotectiveand antioxidative in nature.
