Thermodynamic modeling of ITM 285 Tractor engine performance at the 50 and 75% load coefficients
Journal Title: International Journal of Farming and Allied Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 20
Abstract
In this research work, one of the most widely used agricultural diesel engines (scientific name of 4.248G) placed on ITM 285 tractor is analyzed experimentally and analytically. In this survey, to optimize the power and performance parameters of the engine, the finite time thermodynamics was used. In this analysis, non-linear relationship between the specific heat of the working fluid and their corresponding temperatures, corresponding frictional dissipation with the average speed of the piston, irreversibility of the compression and expansion efficiencies at the load coefficients of 75 % and 50% are considered. The relations between engine speed and engine performance parameters with the help of numerical methods using MATLAB software were analyzed and compared with the obtained experimental data of 4.248G diesel engine. According to the results obtained in this study, the results obtained in this study can be used to improve 4.248G diesel engine performance parameters.
