Tibia open fractures incidence in patients fom 20 to 35 years of the hospital dr José María Vargas in the period 2015 - 2018

Abstract
As the biped man, the tibia is a bone that is vulnerable to external aggressions and the tibia open fractures are the most frequent, converting this in a problem that concerns the Dr. José Maria Vargas Hospital trauma service. Objective: To analyze the incidences of tibia open fractures in Dr. José Maria Vargas Hospital trauma services ́ patients from 20 to 35 years old, in the 2015 – 2018 period. Materials and Methods: The research was carried out through quantitative methods of descriptive and transversal type, for which a population was selected and a 50 patients sample between the ages of 20 and 35, who enter to the Dr. Hospital José Maria Vargas trauma area in the 2016 - 2018 period. To collect the data, the patients’ medical history, who enter to the traumatology area, was used. Results: The male sex is the one with the highest presence of trauma cases with incidence seventy-four percent (74%) tibia fractures, and the highest prevalence age tibia fracture cases is the range between 20 to 24 years with fifty-six percent (56%) of registered cases at the study time of study. Conclusions: The main cause of lower limb amputation is the traffic accident, specifically motorcycle events due to the trauma severity generated in the accident, followed by automotive events
