Topical Issues of Combined Use of Antibacterial Drugs and Probiotics
Journal Title: Актуальна інфектологія - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 8
Abstract
One of the most serious and discussed issues in medicine at the present stage is the question of the validity of antibiotic therapy. It was shown that during or after the antibiotic treatment, 3 to 30 % of patients report adverse effects. Given the growing resistance of many bacteria to antibiotics, you cannot ignore the unique feature of representatives of indigenous microflora to inhibit their growth. In order to provide a probiotic effect, microorganisms that are a part of probiotic preparation, with minimal losses must go through the upper digestive tract, and therefore there is a need for their placement in the pH-sensitive capsule. Probiotic, which meets all modern requirements, is Bifiten, a unique combination of 9 strains of probiotic bacteria with increased efficiency. In whole — not less than 4.5 × 109 CFU. An important feature of Bifiten is that it’s a synbiotic, which is a combination of prebiotics and probiotics, wherein the probiotics and prebiotics have a synergistic effect on the physiological functions and the metabolic processes in the human body. Another important feature of Bifiten is acid resistance of the capsule that has been achieved thanks to MURE (Multi Resistant Encapsulation) technology.
