Abstract
Following the Decree of September 14, 1940, the Romanian state has been declared "National Legionary State". Iron Guard became the only recognized political party and General Antonescu was appointed "Head of the State" and "Head of Legionary Regime". On this occasion, the Iron Guard has over control a number of ministries and two Bukovinian entered into Government: Traian Braileanu - the Ministry of Education, Religion and Heritage, and Basil Iasinschi - the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Welfare. Traian Braileanu was appointed minister for being recognized, after the death of Nae Ionescu, as the true ideologue of the Legionary Movement. Problems faced by the Minister in the first stage came in the need to occupy the posts of professors, teachers, and priests, to ensure the possibility for further studies on different levels for the Romanians in the provinces ceded. A second line a work of Trajan Braileanu was be the Romanization of education which required legislative and administrative measures to compensate those who moral suffered in 1938-1940, followed by their professional reintegration. On September 28, 1940, Traian Braileanu signed a decree providing for retirement of the all teachers who had reached 65, the most important case being that of Nicolae Iorga. Other measures adopted by Braileanu targeted to organize the student associations, but the removal of the non-Christian signs from the buildings belonging to the ministry. The most controversial of his measures has aimed at eliminating the Jews from schools or their annexes. Traian Braileanu shared the fate of other Iron Guard ministers after the events of 21 to 23 January 1941 and his career approaching end.
