Abstract
One of the major objectives of the Common Transport Policy is the creation of coherent and effective transport systemwhich would embrace not only EU member states but would also make it possible to integrate the transport with other European countries and more distant partners. Efficient European transport network has to be characterized by high technical and exploitative standards. Creation of the European transport system should be easier thanks to the EU conception related to trans-european transport networks. Modern infrastructure will contribute to the economic growth and improvement in economic cooperation and can became a motor for Europe's competitiveness.
