TRAUMATIC ABDOMINAL WALL HERNIA: A RARE CASE REPORT
Journal Title: Journal of Evidence Based Medicine and Healthcare - Year 2015, Vol 2, Issue 3
Abstract
Traumatic abdominal wall hernia is an uncommon injury despite the high prevalence of blunt abdominal trauma. Traumatic abdominal hernia was first described by Selby in 1906. In worldwide literature, less than 50 cases of Traumatic abdominal wall hernia have been reported with only three to five cases from India.[1, 2] We are reporting a case of TAWH resulting from a blunt injury sustained by a quarry worker and discussion on the management of such injuries.
