Ukrainian Cossacks in the literary works of Vasyl’ Mova

Abstract
The article analyzes the literary heritage of Vasyl’ Mova (Lymansky). Most of his works are devoted to the traditional Cossack theme. As Panteleimon Kulish, the writer perceived the Cossacks as destructive but not state building force, opposing it with unfortunate labor peasantry. It was reflected in his poem «Troyiste Kohannia» (1863), the poetry «Kozatsky Kistiak» (1875), the drama «Stare Hnizdo i Molodi Ptakhy» (1883).
