Abstract

Introduction. A quick dissemination and updating of information is one of the main features of the modern society. Thanks to the Internet technologies, opportunities to exchange knowledge within the multi-billion audience are created. This provides such conditions for learning that were previously unattainable. If two decades ago a student was getting necessary knowledge from a teacher or a textbook, now the Internet, where the world scientific thought is centered, succoured. Not depending on the specialty everyone, who is studying, can find useful information in the Internet. This refers to Master's degree students studying surgical diseases of animals. However, today there is a lack of data concerning to the use of modern Internet technologies in order to study. Just the enlightening of these issues was the aim of the implemented research. Methods. During the research analysis of scientific sources about modern informativecommunicative technologies for higher education was implemented. In order to get data in reference to use Internet technologies by Master's degree students, who are studying surgical diseases of animals, such sociological techniques as a survey, an observation and a questionnaire were used. Results. According to the data, all interviewed students exploring surgical diseases of animals use the Internet for studying. In addition to that they prefer e-mail, social networking sites and specialized veterinary sites. Considerably less people among these students use educational information from specialized veterinary forums and even less from the Moodle system. It is also noted that among social networking sites, all Master's degree students, who are studying surgical diseases of animals, use "Vkontakte", significantly less students use "Odnoklasniki" and "You Tube", a half of the students use "Facebook" and the fourth part of them use "Twitter" in order to study. Discussion. Implemented work opens the prospect for further research of the Web-technologies’ significance and network services while training veterinary surgeons.
