Use of a New Nanosized Photo Catalyst BaO3TiO.SrO3TiO-An Eco-friendly Process for Removal of Coloring Agents
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Chemistry and Environment (IJRCE) - Year 2013, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Colouring agents are used widely and when not consumed are excreted in environment polluting it. Most common pollutants are dyes, synthetic or natural. These dyes were removed through photo catalytic degradation process using a new semiconductor BaO3TiO.SrO3TiO. The optimum conditions were extracted by varying pH, concentration of dye, amount of semiconductor, intensity of light etc. the process follows pseudo first order kinetics which was confirmed on kinetic parameters. Formation of nontoxic degraded products like NO2, CO2, H2O etc makes the process of immense importance. Participation of OH free radical was confirmed by use of scavenger.

New Efficient Green Methodology for the Synthesis of a Series of Potentially Biologically Active Pyrazoles under Microwave Irradiation
In this work a new effective green methodology has been developed for the preparation of a series of potentially biologically active pyrazoles by the cyclocondensation reaction of different symmetrical as well as unsymme...
Hydrochemical Analysis of Surface water and Groundwater in Tannery belt in and around Ranipet, Vellore district, Tamil Nadu, India
Quality of water is an important criterion for evaluating the suitability of water for drinking and industries. One of the highly polluted areas in India located at Ranipet occupies around 200 tanneries and other small s...
Kinetic and Equilibrium Studies of the adsorption of Mercury(II) ions from Aqueous Solution using Kaolinite and Metakaolinite clays from Southern Cameroon
[i]The elimination of mercury from aqueous solution by kaolinite (Ka1) and metakaolinite (Metaka1) by adsorption using batch mode was studied. The study highlighted several parameters, such as the contact time, mass of t...
Effect of Substrate Concentration on the Amylase Activity in Germinating Buckwheat Seeds
Common Buckwheat ( Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) seeds were taken and germinated in dark at room temperature. Dialysis was used for the partial purification of amylases and then, the effect of substrate concentration on a...
