Use of Industry 4.0 and Organisational Innovation Concepts in the Serbian Textile and Apparel Industry
Journal Title: Fibres and Textiles in Eastern Europe - Year 2019, Vol 27, Issue 3
Abstract
Technological and non-technological innovations represent one of the most important and sustainable sources of competitive advantages for businesses. Industry 4.0, a new fundamental paradigm shift in industrial production and organisational innovation, as new management practices, are important issues for companies as they seek to upgrade their productivity, improve the quality of supply and retain competitiveness. Analysis of technological and non-technological innovations of the textile and apparel industry in Serbia became particularly important in the situation where the Serbian transitional economy opted to alter its growth model. This paper analyses the results of the European Manufacturing Survey conducted in manufacturing industries in a transitional economy – the Republic of Serbia. The current Serbian dataset of 2015 includes 280 observations of Serbian firms of all manufacturing industries. The empirical results indicate that textile and apparel manufacturing companies in Serbia utilise industry 4.0 and organisational innovation concepts on a very low level.

Modeling of Ozonation of Reactive Black 5 Through a Kinetic Approach
C.I. Reactive Black 5 (RB5) is the most commonly used dye in the textile industry. Ozone is a strong oxidan that can decompose many barely degradable pollutants, including dyes. Although there are many literature reports...
Investigation of Moisture Management and Air Permeability Properties of Fabrics with Linen and Linen-Polyester Blend Yarns
This paper has focused on moisture management (MMT) and air permeability properties of fabrics produced from linen (100%) and linen-polyester yarns (80% polyester and 20% linen) at different weft densities. In the experi...
Sensitivity of the Heat and Mass Transport System Within Neonate Clothing
The global model of heat and mass transport is determined by means of the heat balance with a term describing evaporation of sweat. Heat is supplied by metabolic heat production and lost by means of different phenomena w...
Experimental Studies on the Dielectric Behaviour of Polyester Woven Fabrics
In this paper, the influence of fabric structure, weft density, end spacing and yarn fineness on the dielectric constant of polyester woven fabrics was studied. The results show that at low frequencies, the dielectric co...
