Using the Results of Internal Evaluation to Modify the Concept of School Organisation and to Plan its Further Development

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present how to use results of an internal evaluation of the school’s organisation in order to plan its further development. The study was conducted by a team of 10 teachers involved in the evaluation at the request of the headmaster of the Comprehensive School Complex No. 16 in Gorzów Wielkopolski in the second semester of the 2015/2016 school year. Data for analysis were collected by means of a questionnaire and a group interview from 80 students, 60 parents and 50 teachers. The study covered issues related to educational leadership, the proces of creating an educational model based on pedagogical supervision, human resources and material resources management, teachers’ teamwork, modification of the school concept, efforts to obtain support from external institutions, monitoring teachers’ use of up-to-date knowledge in pedagogy and psychology. After analysing results of the study the author evaluates the possibility of using them for a qualitative development of a public school.
