Journal Title: Revista Eugenio Espejo - Year 2020, Vol 14, Issue 2
Abstract
A soccer player is vulnerable to injury throughout his/her professional career, that is why, prevention and effective treatment are important in this regard. A study with a quantitative approach and an observational descriptive type was carried out. The researchers worked with the entire population under study, which consisted of 21 soccer players from the FDCH U14 category, during the competition period June – August 2018. 38.09% had injuries due to muscle contractures. The flexibility measurement allowed to appreciate that most of the population was in the normal and deficient categories (66.67%). In 57.14% of the participants, the KT was used to seek relaxation of muscle tone. The existence of an increase in flexibility was established in 95.24% of soccer players. The pre and post competition evaluation of the sit and reach test allowed determining the importance and viability of the use of the neuromuscular bandage as a measure of intervention and prevention of injuries, especially in the optimization of hamstring flexibility and reduction of risk factors.
