Journal Title: IJSR-International Journal Of Scientific Research - Year 2019, Vol 8, Issue 5
Abstract
Penetrating injuries to the “cardiac box“ are amongst the most lethal traumatic injuries with an estimated 6% of the patients arriving to the hospital alive1. We report the benign presentation of a 79 year-old female with penetrating injury to the cardiac box. Post-operative course was unremarkable. In this report, we discuss the surgical implications of penetrating injury to the cardiac box.
