В. Русанівський про роль старослов'янізмів у формуванні художнього стилю нової української літературної мови V.M. Rusanivsky about role of Old Slavic word in shaping of the artistic style of modern Ukrainian literary language

Abstract
В.М Русанівський, один із провідних вітчизняних фахівців у царині стилістики, зробив значний внесок у проблему вивчення ролі старослов’янізмів на різних етапах розвитку української літературної мови та формування її функціональних стилів. До цієї теми він звертався протягом усього життя. Наступний етап у вивченні функції старослов’янізмів у становленні й розвитку нової української літературної мови матиме статус, як гадаємо, важливого епізоду реконструкції замкнених систем української історичної стилістики на різних етапах її екзистенції. V.M. Rusanivsky, one of the leading national scientists in the realm of the stylistics who made a significant contribution into the problem of studying the role of Old Slavic word heritage at different stages of development of Ukrainian language and the formation of functional styles in Ukrainian language. V.M. Rusanivskyy postulated that "common language can be (and in the history of literary language and in the stylistics should be) considered only as a background, like a blank canvas on which a writer embroiders his personal pattern". It is possible to meet this postulate also in analysis of connection between words of the poetic language and such of the common language. This thought was expressed by both the distinguished folklorist and researcher of a form of the poetic text V. Zhirmunski and famous linguist O. Pyeshkovsky. The most appropriate usage of the following statements of the V.M. Rusanivsky is determined with the first poet of some nation. The situation is complicated when look closely to the "background" in which Shevchenko "embroidered". Postulates by V.M. Rusanivsky appears logical in attachment to a poet who does not act as a 'language maker" and only uses the normalized and pre-produced literary language. But Shevchenko was not such poet. V. Rusanivsky is not avoiding such a complex issue, as the degree of understanding by ordinary peasant of Shevchenko time church Slavonic words. We are able to rely only on the observations of the folk recordings made P. Zhytetsky and A. Krymsky. The next stage in the study of functions of the Old Slavic word heritage in the formation and development of the new Ukrainian language will give the status, as we believe, of an important episode in a reconstruction of Ukrainian historical stylistics in various stages of its existence.
