Validation of an instrument to measure biosafety measures of SARS COV 2 in the dental office

Journal Title: Más Vita - Year 2023, Vol 5, Issue 1

Abstract

SARS-CoV-2 is characterized by generating respiratory symptoms, cough, fever, and in some cases anosmia and dysgeusia, which may precede respiratory symptoms. This pathology presents a high risk of contagion through inhalation or direct contact with aerosols, blood or saliva. However, transmission is not limited exclusively to the respiratory tract, but can also occur through the eyes, and symptomatic and asymptomatic subjects can be contagious. Objective:Validate an instrument to measure the biosafety measures applied for SAR-COV2 during the dental consultation. Materials and methods:This is a descriptive, prospective and quantitative-qualitative study. Content validation was performed through expert judgment. 5 judges were selected, who reviewed the approach to the questions according to the criteria of validity, relevance and coherence. Giving a rubric of reliability and observations from each of the expert evaluators. Result:The result obtained by the different paths to evaluate the test was adequate, obtaining an instrument of 26 questions; being valid and very reliable, according to the reliability rubric given by the sum of the results of the quantitative instruments, having given this of 91.86 out of 100 justifying its use and application in the investigative field Conclusion: The instrument is suitable to apply in a study that seeks to measure biosafety applied to SAR-COV2 during dental consultation
