VEGETATIVE SUPPORT OF AUDITORY-MOTOR CHOICE REACTION IN BOYS WITH VISUAL DYSFUNCTIONS
Journal Title: Вісник Одеського національного університету. Біологія - Year 2015, Vol 20, Issue 1
Abstract
Introduction. Visual dysfunctions may cause to changes in the autonomic regulation of the heart rate due chronic social and emotional stress and because of direct influence of reduction visual inputs on higher autonomic centers. Purpose. The purpose of the research is to determine the features of autonomic provision of auditory-motor choice reaction time in 8-12 year old boys with visual dysfunction. Methods. Time- and frequency-domain heart rate variability (HRV) parameters have been studied by 2.5 minutes monitoring ECG in resting state with eyes closed and during the auditory-motor choice reaction time. Participants responded to a 500 Hz pure tone by pressing one mouse right desk button, and responded to a 1kHz pure tone by pressing the left desk button (50% probability for each tone). The comparative analysis of the HRV was performed in boys with congenital (n=22) and obtained (n=27) visual dysfunctions compared to sighted (n=27). Results. HRV parameters at rest and stress were altered only in boys with congenital visual dysfunction compared with sighted boys: boys with congenital vision dysfunction have a decreasing of Mean in resting state and decreasing of Mean, Mo, ΔX, pNN50 and increasing CC1, CC0, LFt during auditory-motor choice reaction time. Auditory-motor choice reaction time in causes a decrease in CC1, TP, LF in sighted boys, a decrease in CC1 in boys with obtained vision dysfunction and decrease in Mo, TP, HF and increase in AMo, VLFt in boys with congenital vision dysfunction. Conclusion. Boys with congenital visual dysfunction characterized by increased autonomic reactivity and decreased functional reserves of the autonomic regulation
