VERBALIZATION OF EMOTIONS IN THE ART LITERARY TEXT («PERSONA GRATA» M. KOTSIUBYNSKY)

Abstract
In the context of anthropocentric linguistics, the mechanisms of the verbalization of emotions are of great importance. The article explores the emotional sphere of a character from "Persona grata" short story by Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, ал unsurpassed master of Ukrainian psychological prose of the late 19th and early 20th century. The analysis of the verbal representation of emotions is based on a modern psychological approach to different kinds and types of emotions. The paper highlights two ways of portraying literary characters' emotions: by naming them directly or using descriptive techniques. The article deals with different types of lexical, phraseological, morphological and syntactical expressive means used to describe a person's emotional sphere. The emphasis is made on the verbal representation of emotions in the text of Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky's short story.
