Abstract
The article analyzes the views of P.E. Kazanskyi on private international law. The article defines the nature of international private law, its isolation from the national legal regulation of the relevant relations in accordance with the teachings of P.E. Kazanskyi. The substantiation of his independent character as a branch of law and his science is revealed. The definition of the place of international private law as an independent part of the system of international law is described.
