ВИЗНАЧЕННЯ ПОНЯТТЯ «ІНФОРМАЦІЯ» В НАУКОВІЙ ЛІТЕРАТУРІ

Abstract
The paper reveals the main scientific approaches regarding the definition of “information” and its features. Attention is drawn to the fact that information as a phenomenon is a multifaceted phenomenon. This leads to the presence of numerous diverse definitions of information in legal science. It is defined by: a) through the category of “knowledge”; b) through the categories “information” and “data”; c) as a result of mental activity of a person; d) as an expression in any form of the content of events, actions and phenomena, etc. It is concluded that information as a legal category can not and should not be a multi-faceted phenomenon, since a large range of definitions negatively affects the right-realization, and, consequently, the effectiveness of the legal regulation of information relations in Ukraine. It is substantiated the opinion that for legal science and law-enforcement activities the interpretation of information from the point of view of legal regulation of social relations is important, and therefore the definitions, which are fixed in the current legislation, should not describe the entire spectrum of the diversity of information in the world around the world, but they should only define those about intrinsic properties that are important for legal regulation.
