Volunteering as an educational theme of social work

Abstract
Volunteering in social work presents a theme, which is relevant in relation to the practice, research and also to the education of social workers. The aim of this contribution is to analyse volunteering in the context of educational ques-tions around social work. The sources of this analysis are the changes, which exist inthe sphere of volunteering and social work because of the influence of modernisation and which implicate mutual cooperation by achieving social justice and cohesive society. This contribution presents a thesis about the in-clusion of volunteering into the theoretical and practical preparation of social workers. The final section illustrates service-learning strategy and some pos-sibilities for its implementation amongst other models.
