ВТОРИННІ НОМІНАЦІЇ КІЛЬКОСТІ В АНГЛОМОВНОМУ ПУБЛІЦИСТИЧНОМУ ДИСКУРСІ: ПРАГМАСТИЛІСТИЧНИЙ АСПЕКТ

Abstract
Стаття присвячується необхідності встановлення прагмастилістичних особливостей функціонування вторинних номінацій кількості у фрагментах публіцистичного дискурсу. Описуються лінгвокогнітивні особливості вторинного моделювання квантитативів та їх функціонування у вигляді стилістичних метафор у фрагментах публіцистичного дискурсу. Розглядається ефективність квантитативних метафор для реалізації прагматики публіцистичних текстів. The article explores cognitive features of the secondary nominations of quantity functioning as stylistic metaphors in texts of the journalistic discourse. Human learning of the material world is marked by allocation of its facts and objects quantitative characteristics. Therefore, the verbalizers of the category of quantity outcome as a linguistic product of its comprehension by people. It should be noted that in the process of communication, the linguistic cognition goes beyond the limits of the system, interpreting the quantitative properties of real objects through the instruments of metaphorical derivation. Being able to express both quantitative and qualitative characteristics, thus, allows secondary quantitatives to fulfil emotional, expressive and axiological functions. The author emphasizes, that modern studies in cognitive linguistics consider the figures of speech as the product of thinking and conceptualization. Regarding that view, the article investigates the stylistic function specifics of quantity secondary nominations in the journalistic discourse. It is stated that metaphors transfer one image of the object onto another, allowing its conceptualization by analogy with the existing system of notions, already possessed by the recepient. As the result, a new image with quantitative characteristics is also conceptualized and added to the general lingvocultural conceptual system. The article reveals the investigation of the most productive sources for modelling quantity secondary nominations of the metaphorical nature. As the empirical data show, the most resourceful concepts are those, connected to «Nature Phenomena» cluster. The author outlined the following efficient nominations: water phenomena and its parts, air phenomena. It is explained that the popularity of namely those concepts lies in correlation between objects themselves and their quantitative characteristics. Moreover, all of the nature phenomena are familiar to recipients, what facilitates the process of recognizing and decoding the pragmatic message. The author of the article emphasizes that the unique features of journalistic discourse (necessity of forming an information flow and expressing an actual opinion within the newspaper article) form rigid requirements for the selection of instruments making the text more evocative. It is concluded, that quantitative metaphors due to their connection with the basic lingvocultural concepts and functional upload, are effective means of realization the main massage of the newspaper article.
