Warunki transportu i kondycja tuczników z dostaw bezpośrednich do zakładów ubojowych na Podkarpaciu

Abstract
The study presents results of research into the conditions of transport and the state of fatteners transported from the place of production directly to slaughter. The research was conducted in three slaughter houses located in the Subcarpathian voivodeship. The study showed that agricultural units were used to transport the animals at short distances. At longer distances fatteners were transported with special single or multi-storey vehicles. Ramps were used to load the animals. Fatteners were transported on a bedded floor, with stocking density compliant with the current norms. The study showed that about 57% of the animals had body injuries comprising wounds and bruises. Injuries occurred more frequently in animals transported at long distances.
