Journal Title: Духовність особистості: методологія, теорія і практика - Year 2018, Vol 2, Issue 0
Abstract
The article analyses the problem of the need for professional training of teachers in gifted education. Since any education system should be aimed at helping both gifted students and any other youth, also developing their talent which will serve best the economy of their country and its competitiveness in the world. It is believed that techniques and methods that benefit gifted students can be beneficial for all kinds of students. There is also an opinion that a teacher who is trained in gifted education will be more qualified to work with any kind of students, because such a teacher will use a more differentiated approach to learning and will be guided by individual educational needs of each student. An important factor in the successful process of student learning is the desire of teachers to help each student develop their potential to the fullest. International talent scholars recognize that gifted education will be permanent and effective if it is legitimized within the education system. The provisions of gifted students should not be considered special or be separated from the provisions of students as a whole. It should be recognized as a routine measure within the established educational system of the country. Gifted education must demonstrate that it has to offer something essential to general education. This can be done in a unique way - through partnerships with educational institutions, cultural and research institutions and parents. Improving the education system as a whole can be achieved by focusing on gifted education. Often, much attention is paid to solving the problems of academically underachieving students. But if a school starts with the educational and emotional needs of the most capable students, they can create a much more positive learning environment in which diversity and innovation are valued. This type of learning environment will be beneficial to all kinds of students, as well as their teachers and parents.
