Journal Title: Ege Tıp Dergisi - Year 2014, Vol 53, Issue 2

Abstract

Leptospirosis caused by Leptospira interrogans is an acute, febrile, zoonotic disease of worldwide distribution. Humans become infected by direct or indirect contact with infected animals. A 73-year-old male patient with a history of a rat bite in his ear and complaints of fatigue, generalized body and headache and dyspnea was diagnosed with leptospirosis and admitted to the intensive care unit. Here we report on a case of Weil’s disease with icterus, thrombocytopenia and acute renal failure.
