Who Deserves Help? The Support for Selected Prosocial Initiatives Among Students of Universities of Warsaw

Journal Title: Studies in Global Ethics and Global Education - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue

Abstract

The article presents a study concerning the attitudes towards selected prosocial initiatives among the students of various universities in Warsaw in perspective of Melvin Lerner’s just-world fallacy and Roland Inglehart’s postmaterialism theory. The results of the study show that the responsibility for one’s own situation decreases the willingness to support the person in need. The support for proecological initiatives turned out to be low.
