Why Sexual Health Education?

Abstract

Sexuality is a concept begins before birth and continuing throughout life, it's not only the reproductive organs of the individual, as a human being that has a concept that reflects all the features. Today, sexuality and sexual well-being are considered to be important for the general health, well-being and quality of life of the individual. There is a need for adequate and accurate sexual health education about sexuality and sexual health in order to protect, develop and maintain sexual health. It is aimed to provide safe sex behaviors along with knowledge skills and to increase the respect of the individual himself / herself in order to make informed, conscious, healthy, respectful choices about education with the youth. The first information on sexual health education should be given to the family and should continue with structured education. Family and formal education in comprehensive, age-appropriate structured training individuals who can't afford the information obtained in an informal way, and as a result may be faced with unwanted health problems. It is possible with comprehensive and effective sexual health education to prevent unwanted sexual health problems, to develop conscious and healthy behaviors about sexual health, and to make individuals to make respectful and conscious choices. In this review, the importance and necessity of sexual health education has been emphasized.
