Abstract
Relıgıous Musıc In Socıal Lıfe Of Harput In The 19th Century The 19th Century at whichtheNon-ReligiousTurkish Music had its golden agewasalsothe golden age of theReligious Music which is anotherbranch of theTur-kish Music.Thebestsamples of thismusicweregiven in Istanbulwhichwasthecapita-landthemostimportantculturalcenter of theOttomanEmpire.Withthesupport of the-palaceandsects, TurkishReligious Music had flourished in Istanbuland it has spread fromtheretotheothercitiesthroughthemusicians. TurkishReligious Music wasarticu-latedtothefeelings of thedevoutpeopleandhelpedthemhavepsychologicalrelief. That'swhygreatimportance has beengiventotheReligious Music in every step of the life frombirthtothedeathandtheseworkshavebeenperformedwithgreatpleasure.One of thecitieswheretheinfluence of IstanbulcenteredReligious Music has beenobserved is thehistorical Harput (Elazığ) City, whichwasone of theimportantsettlementcenters of Anatolia.Inthisstudy, weemphasize how theexamples of TurkishReligious Music wereperformed in the 19th century of Harput citysocial life andwealsomention, just-liketheotherfields, how Harput City wasinfluencedbyIstanbul in terms of Religious Music.
