Abstract
The article deals with the means of impacting on language policy. It is emphasised that national language policy does not always have the desired and planned results and these mistakes discredit the idea of a reasonable social infl uence on the language situation. It is proved that remaking language through force is a powerful means of forming social language awareness. The existence of dual standards in the language problem is described. Making use of successful international experience in language policy is proposed.
