Abstract
Severe injuries are strictly dependant on the passing time since the treatment outcome is determined by the time that have elapsed from the occurrence of trauma to the definite provision of medical services in hospital. In order to appropriately operate on the spot, it is extremely crucial to acquire the ability to assess and manage patients with severe body injuries. The ITLS examination is focused on the quickest and the most effective methods of trauma assessment. The aim of the article is to summarise the most important information included in the eighth edition of the ITLS manual.
