Abstract
Modern solutions arising from the “going underground” of buildings in cities. This article presents the technologies most commonly used today in th construction of deep undergrounds. Two examples have been discussed in detail. The first concerns an office building with three underground floors located in the vicinity of the metro station and pre-war tenement houses. The second example discusses the execution of the deep excavation in geotechnical conditions of high ground water level in the absence of the possibility to perform the dewatering of the construction site. In the first case, diaphragm walls and jet-grouting below the existing foundations were used. The influence of the excavation on neighboring buildings was analyzed and expected settlements of foundations were determined. In the second example the method of underwater concreting is described.<br/><br/>
