Abstract
The aim of the article is to present and explain the conditions and practices that cause that in recent years Norway has become one of Europe’s most important exporters of arms and military equipment. Considerations included in this study have been focused on the following issues: the offer of the Norwegian defense industry in force in Norway procedures for the acquisition of military equipment, and initiated by Norwegian producers forms of industrial cooperation with the recipients of their production. A very important factor that strengthens the position of the Norwegian arms manufacturers in the global markets, is almost exemplary state‑led arms policy. As a result, private companies reinforcement gain assurance from government procurement, and thus may offer developed products outside Norway.
