Abstract
The article deals with the church connections of Mount Athos with the lands of Kievan Rus. The author reveals the questions of the key support of the Russian holy monasteries in Athos, transforming Xilugur to the center of spiritual enlightenment. The role of Nagornyi Rusik in connection with the Kievan Rus was determined.
