A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF INFRA RED COAGULATION (IRC) THERAPY AND KASISADI TAILAM PICHU DHARAN IN MANAGEMENT OF ABHYANTAR ARSHA w.s.r. INTERNAL HAEMORRHOIDS

Abstract

One of the prime important diseases from Ashtamahagadais “Arsha”. Ayurveda, the ancient science of medicine of India has detailam information and description of Arsha. According to Ayurvedic samprapti “Mithya” Aahar-vihar is one of the important etiological factors of Arsha . It is necessary due to busy lifestyle, uncontrollable addictions etc. Hence while working in Shalya Tantra outpatient department; it was observed that the percentage of patients of Arsha is more than another ano-rectal ailment, near about one third of population suffering from anorectal diseases. Therefore this problem was selected for scientific study. The progressive pathogenesis of disease produces various discomforting symptoms like bleeding, prolapse, pruritus etc. To eliminate this ailmentalong with its symptoms, number of modalities having their own importance. In present study Infra red coagulation therapy para-surgical procedure was performed in group A & Kasisadi tailam pichu kept in anal canal for consecutive 7 days dailyin group B. After statistical evaluation of both, it was found that infrared coagulation therapy and Kasisadi Tailam Pichu Dharan are equally effective in the management of Abhyantar Arsha (Internal Haemorrhoid) but Infrared coagulation therapy needs hospitalization of the patient and has some disadvantages like post-operative haemorrhage and pain which has been overcome by Ksisadi Tailam Pichu Dharan.
