A Comparative Study on Gravitational and Centrifugal Casting Solidification
Journal Title: RECENT - Year 2016, Vol 17, Issue 47
Abstract
It was studied the solidification of a part cast in both ways, centrifugal and gravitational. The study has been accomplished by computer simulation. Six casting variants were compared, three by centrifugal casting and three by gravity casting. The hot spot position, the solidification time, the solidification front movement, the temperature variation relative to time, the cooling and the solidification kinetics were analysed. The influence of the external cores and the mould coatings with protection layers it was studied too.

Research about Roughness for Mating Members of a Cylindrical Fine Fit after Turning with Small Cutting Feeds
In this paper the turning with small cutting feeds for a shaft and bore of a fine fit has been studied experimentally. It has been measured obtained roughness Ra, Rz, Rq and has been correlated with shape of chips and th...
Comparison between the Performances of Platinum and Carbon Paste Electrodes for Voltammetric Vitamin C Determination
Voltammetric and amperometric methods allow fast, sensitive and selective ascorbic acid determination, requiring little or no sample preparation. Voltammetry at various electrodes was used to assess the ascorbic acid con...
Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Friendly Cotton / Nestrapol 455-60 Composites after Saline Environmental Condition
In this research paper a comparison between mechanical characteristics of two friendly composites with three and five layers after immersion were evaluated. Five specimens for each composite were immersed in 5% NaCl aque...
A New Approach Regarding Investment Decision in Manufacturing Systems
This paper aims to conduct a brief presentation, but based on examples, of two different methods of selecting the technological equipment and to provide a completion to the method of selection based on technology influen...
New Matlab Functions Applied to Mechatronic Systems
In the study of mechatronic systems, in particularly of robotics, the constant concern is the location of objects in three-dimensional space. These objects are the links of the manipulator, the parts and tools with which...
