A Cutting Force Model in Turning of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite
Journal Title: RECENT - Year 2011, Vol 12, Issue 33
Abstract
The estimation of cutting forces in longitudinal turning of metals can be performed by applying the semi-empirical method developed by Kienzle and Victor, known also as specific cutting resistance model. Although this model is well documented for metals it has not been applied for new materials such as composites. The Kst1, and (1-zt) constants of the Kienzle-Victor model for a glass fibre reinforced Polyamide (PA66 GF-30) are experimentally determined in the present work.
