A New Journey of Medical Ethics Education Pathway in China
Journal Title: Medicine and Philosophy - Year 2024, Vol 45, Issue 22
Abstract
In the new era, China's medical ethics education still faces challenges in achieving a balanced transition between theoretical framework development and practical application. From the practical perspective, the main factors affecting the development of medical ethics in China include the gap between medicine and humanity, a lack of medical professionalism education, limited curriculum proportion, and insufficient textbook guidance. Given the context of a new journey of medical ethics education in China, it is essential to reconstruct the education pathway: enriching ethical concepts in medicine through innovative integration; strengthening interdisciplinary mechanisms to create new educational approaches; empowering ethical practice in medicine by establishing evaluation systems. Reshaping medical ethics education and innovating education pathway are necessary to meet the new era's pursuit of national health, inspire reform in medical humanities curricula, and achieve theoretical breakthroughs in the discipline of medical ethics.
