A new mathematical model for estimation of soil erosion

Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 5, Issue 4

Abstract

Various reasons have are important in estimating spatial distribution of soil erosion in the landscape. For example it is controlled by multifarious of different parameters, such as slope, soil physical properties (texture, structure, permeability, etc.), rainfall, runoff, and crop cover. However, developing a precise mathematical model for predicting the values of land surface soil erosion due to the behavior of controlled parameters is difficult. The study basically aimed to spatially model soil loss and to provide guidance to land developers for reducing land degradation problem. This paper presents a new approach based on the Neural Networks Model for assessing land surface soil erosion as amass per unit area per unit of time. The model derives from the analysis data obtained from available literature and was formulated as linear regression model and back propagation algorithm neural model.
