A rare cause of miliary: Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis

Abstract
Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis is a rare disease characterized by the formation and deposition of calcium phosphate microliths in the lung. Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis is usually asymptomatic and is incidentally found because radiologic findings are characteristic. Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis can easily be diagnosed by bronchioloalveolar lavage or transbronchial biopsy. The clinical course is usually static and it may progress to respiratory failure. We report one case of pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis in a 50 year-old woman without respiratory symptoms presented with miliary on the chest radiography.
